Navy Blue/ Black Smokey Eye

Did you watch this years Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week? If you did, you may have noticed that Gucci had some very dark designs as well as very dark and quite intimidating smokey eyes.

Here's my version..

Before you start to put any make-up on your face, you need to use a primer or a base. Primer prevents your eye shadowing from creasing or wearing off through out the day.
The primer used in this tutorial was E.L.F Eye Shadow Primer ($1; Target)

1.) Start by applying a matte black eye shadow all over the lid, up to the crease and blend well.

2.) Apply a navy blue eye shadow from the crease to a little bit below the brow bone (yes, the black and navy will over lap)

3.)  Apply a light dust of silver all over the eye but apply more heavily on the lid. Also, apply to the brow bone and the inner tear duct for a highlight.

4.)  Make sure to add any black/kohl eye liner to the upper and lower lash line. For a more dramatic effect, sweep the navy blue on the lower lash line to smudge out the black eye liner.

5.) Apply black mascara and you’re ready to be fierce!
*Another product I love to use to make sure my face make-up will stay flawless all day is the Urban Decay All Nighter Spray. I use the mini bottle ($10, Ulta/Sephora) but it is a worthy investment to purchase the bigger bottle (about $30, Ulta/Sephora).
The colors used in this tutorial were from Tarte’s True Blood Pallette:
